And Toto too?   Yes, animals need our help as well and so do many other things in our environment.

What kind of project can you host to help the environment?  Maybe you can contact your animal shelter to help.  Contact you local parks and rec department to find out about trees and plants in your city.  Do you have a local pond, creek, stream, or any kind of water source that needs to be adopted and kept clean?  Have you noticed an excess of junk mail in your mailbox?  Maybe you can contact your postal office to find out ways to start a campaign to change the amount of junk mail.   Wander over to your local car wash and check out how they wash cars and how they recycle water.  Find out what your city is doing to help the environment, talk to your city/state officials, and help spread the news on what your city/state IS doing well.   Find out what endangered plants and animals are in your state and develop a plan to help save them.
